The Oxley Creek Catchment Association in a not-for-profit community based organisation
Our Mission: To protect and enhance the natural environment and resource values of the Oxley Creek catchment.
Objectives:
- To draw the attention of the local community consisting of landholders, residents and business for the need to have ecologically sustainable land use and implement conservation practices in order to protect Oxley Creek catchment.
- Foster coordination between community, industry and government agencies in their land, waterways, vegetation and other natural environment management activities.
Promote community, industry and government understanding of the interactions between land, water and related biological resources.
- To value and promote a coordinated, catchment-wide approach for managing the catchment's environmental and natural resources.
- Identify and prioritise interrelated land and water resource issues in the catchment, identify solutions and agree on actions by encouraging community, industry and government participation.
- Provide a forum for community, industry and government involvement in catchment management issues for resolving conflicting demands on the natural environment.
- Promote the planned and ecologically sustainable economic growth of Oxley Creek catchment in a constructive and balanced way.
